Active Go-To

Navigation that keeps score

Activate a route — or a single Go-To — and Marinate turns the plan into live guidance: distance to waypoint, bearing, ETA and VMG, computed from your GPS position as you sail.

A cross-track error ribbon shows how far you've drifted off the leg and which way to steer back. Reach a waypoint and Marinate advances to the next leg automatically, so your hands stay on the helm, not the screen.

Your routes are yours to carry anywhere

Marinate speaks GPX, the common language of navigation apps and plotters — and it can share a whole passage in a single link, without touching a server. Sharing stays as private as the rest of the app: your routes live on your device, and a link only contains what you chose to share.

Bring routes, waypoints and tracks in from other apps or a plotter. They land on the chart, ready to edit and sail.

Planning, answered

Does route planning work offline?
Yes. Marinate is offline-first: download charts for your cruising area and you can plan, edit and actively navigate routes with no connection at all. Your routes, markers and pilot book entries are stored on your device.
Can I bring routes from another app or plotter?
Yes — import any standard GPX file and your routes, waypoints and tracks appear on the chart. Export works the same way in reverse, so nothing you plan is ever locked in.
How can link sharing work without a server?
The route data is encoded into the link itself. Nothing is uploaded and no account is involved: send the link by any channel you like, and Marinate reconstructs the passage on the recipient's device.
Is any of this behind the paywall?
No. Multi-leg routes, Go-To navigation, markers with photos and notes, the measure tool, GPX import/export, deep-link sharing and the pilot book are all part of the free core — free forever, no account, no tracking.
